Inspirety Fashion - Sexy Lace?
Added 2011-07-05

If I say lace you might think of it as a symbol for the feminine look and something sexy.
Wikepedia’s definition of lace is in a technical point of view “Lace is an openwork fabric, patterned with open holes in the work, made by machine or by hand. The holes can be formed via removal of threads or cloth from a previously woven fabric, but more often open spaces are created as part of the lace fabric. Lace-making is an ancient craft. True lace was not made until the late 15th and early 16th centuries. A true lace is created when a thread is looped, twisted or braided to other threads independently from a backing fabric.”
This season the fashion scene is much about lace. Above you can see a feminine expression by the Chicmuse.
Alix, the Cherry Blossom Girl, seem to like her lace skirt from Free People.

Jacqueline's blog the Fashion Snag is filled with feminine, sexy and beautiful lace inspiration, here are a few samples.
"Crochet and lace shorts are everywhere so it is not surprising that they are the first pieces I pick out to wear in the morning."

"I wore this crochet button down shirt by Of Two Minds that was expensive even on sale. I fell for it because it has such a bohemian flair and it is a really unique piece."

"It is also a little short, but you only live once and I have plenty of time to wear maxi skirts when I am older. This dress is the perfect little bohemian piece to have around for casual parties or a night out with your friends."

"Little black dresses like this one from For Love & Lemons always make me happy. This dress is called lulu and features a mesh zipper back and a strip of mesh in the front."

Inspirety Fashion - Fading Military trend
Added 2011-07-04

The military fashion trend peaked in 2010. Still the military fashion trend is an inspiration to many people, some of the bloggers uses the army trend with elegance.
In 2010 the military trend was much about the reds and blues but it has been replaced by military green and camouflage print in 2011.
A personal inspiration for military clothes is G-Star Raw, I always find garments with a touch of military look at G-Star.
Above you can see how Sandra from 5 Inch and Up wear her DIY jeans perfectly in-line with the military fashion trend.
Mirela from My Daily Style knows how to mix the military style with more casual clothes, about the look “It's not a surprise saying that I love mixing military shirts with smart skirts.”

Last is another look from My Daily Style, this one inspired by khaki, she is “obessed” with that colour.

Inspirety Fashion - Sophisticated Hippie
Added 2011-06-30

To tell you the truth, I have always had a special eye for girls with a hippie look. My first girlfriend had a touch of a sophisticated hippie. During high-school the hippie look had an impact on me, I wore sandals, headbands and sometimes a vest. The hippie culture was originally a youth movement from the USA, that arose in the mid-1960s. Let's praise the youth!
Above is Alix from The Cherry Blossom Gril with her sophisticated hippie look (here at Inspirety Fashion). Confession, if I saw Alix (live) my heart would jump double.
Kristina, with her blog Pretty Shiny Sparkly, can sometimes have the hippie look "I opted for a wide hem, high-waisted flare jean with subtle sanding on the thighs, classic back pockets, slit pockets in the front and a double tab waistband." Find more looks from Kristina at Inspirety Fashion.

Here is yet another favourite at Inspirety Fashion (more looks here) , the hippie look below is from 4 Hundred Beats.

Hippie look never goes out of style.

An interesting proposal are narrow, padded trousers with edges and long coats, referring to the male tails. The collection is an important accent accessories - brooches and thick braids instead of the knotted scarf. Thoughtful smooth color of each figure is a unique announcement pearl collection - Black pass gently tones in gray and white, speckled red gradually flourishing in the lush beautiful evening gown.

Yet another follow up from the Sopot Fashion Days, this from Plich.
Mark Plich appeared on the Polish fashion market in 2002. The designer opened his first shop in Krakow. There, for eight years, he presented his collections and was welcomed by the customers. Mark Plich is also involved in an interior design project - "Dressed inside". Plich summer 2011 Collection is a set of dresses, original hats, handmade jewelry, shoes, handbags and men's suits. Part of the collection is the fruit of a cooperation between Plich and singer Renata Przemyk. The designer, inspired by her charismatic personality, has prepared creations that emphasize the femininity of the artist. Long dresses, silk, translucent, delicate, with flounces, the creamy fabric undergrowth. The common denominator is the transience of dresses. Made of silk georgette are the juicy colors of the uniform or bearing a delicate floral pattern. Spots and silver sequins, pouring a fabric, pinned black ribbons, draped, flowing body makes modern dresses like from another era. Delicate, feminine, simple and tailored so as to emphasize women's physique. Men's styling is the quintessential style PLICH'a - tailored suits and shirts with original fashion.

Łukasza Jemioł latest collection, is another step in the career for this designer. Autumn/Winter 2011/12 line is much more severe, cold and mysterious, inspired by the wild and inaccessible nature. The designer presented sheepskin coats, coats with leather and a male figure. The advantage of these models is their functionality - the possibility of detaching the sleeves, collars, allowing you to create your own version of the dress tailored to the individual style. Łukasza hand saw the collection to taking care of every detail - applied include doubly polished metal zippers and silk ribbon rep. Inspirety Fashion - Lady In Red
Added 2011-06-16

For me, I associate the color red for essentially two occasions. The first occasion took place at a restaurant in Stockholm. A few tables away, me and my friends saw beautiful woman in a stunning red dress, I looked at her and she looked at me. After a while, I approached her and asked if she wanted to go to a club, so we did.
The second occasion was in Riga, I saw a beautiful woman in a red lipstick, I remember how beautiful she was in her red lipstick. I went up to her and said she had the most beautiful lips I had ever seen.
Above is Chiara from the Blonde Sallad also found here at Inspirety Fashion.

This photo is from Kendi Everyday, you can also find the look at Inspirety Fashion.
This is what Wikipedia says about red, somehow it explains my reactions and why the color is so popular associated with fashion.
”Red is used as a symbol of guilt, sin and anger, often as connected with blood or sex. The color red is associated with lust, passion, love, and beauty as well. The association with love and beauty is possibly related to the use of red roses as a love symbol. Both the Greeks and the Hebrews considered red a symbol of love, as well as sacrifice. Psychological research has shown that men find women who are wearing red more attractive.”

The collection is called "The Alice", which the designer has prepared for this year's show, it's breaking the canon of an innocent fairy tale "Alice in Wonderland". Translating the fairy tale surrealism of the prevailing fashion trends in the imagination of customers. "The Alice"is in some ways an art form that inspires, surprises and stirs emotions. Each creation is an incarnation of a character involved in the story. These are garments woven from the adventures of Alice, who follows the magical world of witchcraft. Very colorful and fanciful costumes created by designer could successfully become the object of desire by Tim Burton.

Fashion - new or wearing nothing new?
Added 2011-06-08
For most people fashion is about buying the trendiest newest clothes. How many of you are buying second hand or thrifting clothes? I guess a few of you do so.
Would you dare to travel with only undies in your suitcase? I am pretty sure the answer is a big no no. That is exactly what the designer Jessica Arrington did.
See this beautiful and thoughtful film from TED. Here are some quotes from Jessica Arrington:
"You're happy, you gonna attract other happy people" - Jessica's outfits are so colourful, like a rainbow.
"We should be able to rock anything that that we wonna rock" - Her outfits truly rocks.
Jessica Arrington: Wearing nothing new from TED talk
We suggest you to have a look at her blog, Lucky So and So

ASHISH AW 11/12

How do you make sequins bad-ass?
This is not a trick question, the answer is simple… Ashish.
The show kicked off with an air of excitement and pride as it was the last Womenswear show of the season, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of solidarity as the lights went down and the beats of M.I.A began the show.

Known for his exquisite use of sequins, he stilled managed to amaze with this collection that for sure smelt like teen spirit! The models swaggered down the runway full of glamour and angst as the colours and shimmering shades of the sequins came to life.

Proving that punk is definitely not dead the collection held an essence of punk and grunge giving an edge of glamour, pure glamour. Sexy and definitely not serene, the pieces demand attention. From the spidery tights, to the skeletal trousers, and the mix of tartan and rips, where do you begin to fall in love?

Ashish have proven why London will always have the one up against all other fashion weeks, it’s collections like this that make me proud to come from London. Ashish demonstrates here how the show can completely transform your perspective of a collection.

5 questions to Toni -FashionCloud
Added 2011-03-25
We are pleased to introduce a new section at the Inspirety Fashion blog. Every Friday we will ask 5 questions to people in the fashion industry.
First out is Toni with her blog the FashionCloud.

When did you start your blog?
- I started my blog nearly two years ago now but it seems like it was just yesterday I published my first outfit picture.
Why did you start the FashionCloud?
- It was per my boyfriend's suggestion that I decided to start my blog. But if we were going to do it, then we wanted it done right and I wanted it to represent what I had in mind and how I envisaged it. The reasons behind launching and investing in such a blog was mainly the willingness to share with the community and other reasons my fashion finds and my perception of the blogosphere.
The reasons for continuing my blog have somewhat shifted over the years. I still enjoy sharing what I discover but I have become very attached to the community and the people I have met along the way, which was very unexpected.
What is your favourite brand at the moment?
- I am actually loving Theyskens' Theory at the moment. I love minimalistic and well cut pieces and if I could afford it (which is not the case sadly) I would buy every single item of his latest collection. I really like the non-fussiness of his creations, if that makes any sense.
Can you name a few fashion brands from Belgium?
- There are quite a few great Belgian names in fashion but I will actually give a shout-out to a young belgian brand 'Filles à papa'. I really like their take on a clothes, its fun and playful with an edge, great for summer.

What do you like most about Belgium?
- Its actually a great place in summer, as its very small you can easily go from the coast to the center and then to the country sides in a few hours. I especially like Brussels and Antwerp with their good shopping addresses. Finally, I love the fact that it doesn't seem to take itself too seriously, after all we do currently hold the record for the country that has not had a government for the longest period of time (little fact).

Thanks to Toni at the FashionCloud for talking to us.

Fashion blogs redesign
Added 2011-03-24
Recently a few fashion bloggers have re-launched their blogs with new eye-catching design. A well-known platform is Blogger, which used to dominate the scene and still has the most users. Wordpress is coming strong but Tumblr is hyped by the fashion scene.
In an article by Business of Fashion they observe the following “Interestingly, Tumblr has been very well-received in the fashion community, as well, giving rise to a universe of fashion-related microblogs. “Over the past year, fashion has emerged as one of the fastest growing segments of the Tumblr community, with 20% of our top 1000 blogs related to fashion,” said Rich Tong, a co-founder of Weardrobe and Tumblr’s new fashion director.”
Now back to our beloved fashion bloggers. Vanessa Hong’s blog The Haute Pursuit got a brand new slick design; in our point of view more minimalistic and clean. See how it looks here:

Toni’s popular blog the Fashion Cloud is also out with a newly refreshed design. She takes another approach, an overview of the blog posts are intending to get the viewers read more, which we appreciate.

BraynBoy is excited about the new design of his site, so is Inspirety Fashion. The preview gives a hint that it’s going to look more like a magazine.

Have a fab day!

Spring Colours
Added 2011-03-22
Today the calendar says it's the first day of Spring and the sun shining confirms it (for now...)!
To celebrate the beginning of spring, I've paired some of the most inspiring looks of the upcoming season with a painting that can refer to the mood of the collection.
I really had fun looking for matching inspirations, I hope you'll enjoy too!

Love this dress from Alexander Mc Queen Collection, with its ethereal movements.

The ideal look for the several pic-nics I'm planning to have in the next months.

"Pantone" says this is the colour of the year...love it!

An exotic, but contemporary touch from Prada

Minimalism chez Céline

Geometries & strong colours by Chanel, maybe a little bit too agressive for me....

Jil Sanders is one of the protagonist collection of the season. Really simple but effective.
Take care!

Retro Girly
Added 2011-02-28

Recently I've seen a rising trend of "Retro Girly" in some of my favorite brands. Especially in Japan the "girly" way has always been a style with women. Retro allows for women to be girly while appearing more adult.
Items:
- high waist jeans, shorts and skirts
- boot cut jeans, wide-legged pants
- stripes, polka and gingham print
- floral patterns
- marine colors
- lace and ruffles
- collars (peterpan-style)
- pumpkin shorts, skirts
- over knee socks, ankle socks
- Trench Coat, Blazers
Some of my favorite brands featuring Retro Girly right now:

- Liz Lisa
Their spring collection is called "French Bohemian". It's a vintage bohemian style with lace, floral print dresses and overalls, flowy tops, high boots and wide-brim and boater hats. Very sweet and romantic.
- CECIL McBEE
Their “Fabulous Spring Collection 2011” is aiming for a more glamourous retro style. It's still feminine and sweet, but a bit more elegant and sophisticated, and it feels more grown up.
- Dazzlin
Their spring theme is “Playful” with a vision of “The American Gal” in mind. Their collection is very colorful, and their main focus seems to be patterns with lots of polka and gingham print. Also lots of frills, bows, puffy sleeves and puffy skirts. A very sweet and flirty retro style.
- Ank Rouge
Their fashion is mostly for teenagers, but I still like many of their items. They have a very sweet and romantic style, quite similar to Liz Lisa. Lots of sheer fabrics with floral, polka prints, peter pan collars, tie blouse styling, light colored denim, high-waist shorts and puffy pumpkin shorts.
- Titty&Co
Their spring concept is “Airy Garden” with a theme of floral, relaxing and natural. Floral, polka, gingham prints, lace collars, mini dresses, ruffles, bows, pumpkin shorts, wide legged pants. Everything is very retro girly.
Unfortunately I almost never shop from these brands. Oversea shipping is expensive and my student budget won't cover it. So here are some stores where I find items for my retro-inspired looks in Sweden:
- Beyond Retro
- H&M
- Gina Tricot
- BikBok
- Cubus
- Lindex
- Kappahl
- TopShop
- Zara
- Carlings

light wash jeans from Gina Tricot
floral blouse from Lindex
white shirt/blouse from Kappahl
knit cardigan from Carlings
Even though it's still freezing cold here in Sweden, I'm getting ready for spring. I can't wait to take off my winter coat.

Gilda - Intellectually glamour
Added 2011-02-22
Ciao!
My name is Gilda. I live in Italy, between Venice and Milan, and I work in the Communication Dept. for the Venice Biennale.
Actually, I don't love speaking about my self (quite strange for a blogger, isn't it?), but a short introduction is a right and honest act towards you, "poor readers". You should know, who you are dealing with! :-)

I subtitled my blog "Intellectually glamour", just to sum up my point of view: I have a critical and detached eye on fashion ( I'm not a fashion victim), and at the same time an easy and light approach towards culture and arts in general.
Since I'm always looking for something new, I like blogging about the new places and things I discover. Particular shops, exhibitions, fashion designers, music, books, vintage stuff... and whatever catches my attention!

We're lucky to live in an age in which information, images and opinions are so accessible! Sharing and exchanging ideas and point of views is what makes me enthusiastic about blogging...I hope you're gonna share yours with us!
If I haven't bored you too much, you can follow me here on Inspirety Blog and on my blog, of course!

Vanessa - I am not fashion
Added 2011-02-20

I am not a journalist, and neither am I a photographer. I don’t have an endless supply of designer clothes and I’m not on front row… well, maybe not quite yet.
I am however, a student at London College of Fashion, with a penchant for words and literature.
I am the consumer, one of the most important roles in the fashion industry, and I must say I am quite an expert at blowing my money on a good outfit. I write and I commentate on what I know, and what I know is art, and inspiration in fashion.
You can find all my ramblings and outbursts of fashionable opinions on my blog, Petit Monstres. A site dedicated to personal style, art, and inspirations behind fashion. I write about how we dress, what we wear and why. I think fashion by itself is boring, and fashion itself is not just about the clothes on our back, glossy magazines, or runway shows. These are just ends, and the means are just so much more interesting.
I’m an art student and the best part of coming up with a finished piece is all the bits in-between, finding imagery from films stills, patterns in old pieces of jewellery, and techniques from forgotten fine artists.
I’m a fashion blogger, but I am not fashion. Fashion is not the be all and end all, fashion is the finished piece and I write to celebrate that as well as what inspires us to dress the way we do.

Introducing Lina - vintage, second hand and DIY
Added 2011-02-18
Hi,
My name is Lina and I'm an animator and 3D artist. I'm from Stockholm but currently live in the small town Trollhättan for my studies.

I've been interested in second hand clothing since I was 9 and went through a 60's goth phase, which would later evolve into lots of dramatic styles during my teens. I'm very interested in theater and film and have always tried to apply movie-like characteristics to my personal style.
I write about how to achieve interesting looks with small means and focus on vintage and second hand fashion in combination with DIY tips.

Introducing Erika - inspiration comes from East Asia
Added 2011-02-14
Hi!
My name is Erika and I'm a graphic designer living in Stockholm, Sweden. I love art, fashion, photography, food and blogging.
East Asia is a big inspiration to me. Especially Japan. I fell in love with the country a few years ago and it has influenced my life since. Even though Japan is a great inspiration and I admire their sense of fashion, please don't think of me as yet another one of those Japan freaks. (okay, maybe a little bit of a freak). But I always try to maintain a personal style that fit my western/nordic appearance and also my budget. My posts will mostly be about exploring the latest style trends in East Asia and try to adapt them to a more western/nordic style.

Recently I've seen a big trend of Retro Girly in some of my favourite brands. I think I'll look more into that for my next post. See you next time!

Surely, you’ve already been hit by one of the hottest trends of this fall/winter season: the leopard prints. Have you got a pair of leopard heels already? If not, hurry up! Just be careful, do not overdo it!
The first in line to show up in a leopard print is Chiara Ferragni, The Blonde Sallad. This is what she says about the look:
“My look was created by the black color well matched to the leopard pattern of the clutch and to the new Kandee ankle boots, among the highest shoes I've ever had :)”

Leopard ankle boots by Kandee shoes and bag from SU-SHI
We also spotted the bag at Mireia’s blog My Daily Style, stunning as always.

Meet Karen and her blog WhereDidUGetThat. That girl is a trendsetter; look at her post from late June.

Boots from YSL Homme.
Denni, from The ChicMuse, is hot in her leopard dress. Can’t help but notice those cool shoes!

Dress from D&G
That wouldn’t be Sandra’s first appearance on Inspirety Fashion, neither would be the last one! When she is not busy blogging in her 5inchandup, she is studying fashion design at the London College of Fashion.

Dress from H&M
Likely, if you’ve behaved this year, you’ll get some leopard prints from Santa:) Worried that it’s too 2010? Remember Coco Chanel famous words “Fashion fades, only style remains the same”.

The Aviator – from Top Gun to bloggers
Added 2010-12-09
Remember the famous Top Gun movie from the 80: s with Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis? That’s when the Aviator’s jacket made it big. Worn at first during pilot’s dog fighting in the World War I, the Aviator jacket is enjoying its revival again! Here is how it looked back in the Top Gun days.

We’ve got some new looks that we simply love!
Erika Marie from Fashion Chalet in New York, who knows how to impress in just everything, combines the Aviator with jeans and rough boots. She chooses a Donni Charm scarf and an Ecote bag as complement to her pick.

(Modcloth jacket, Donni Charm scarf, Ecote backpack, Fiorentini + Baker boots)
The Blonde Sallad, Chiara from Milan, says about the Aviator: “I think it's perfect with my shirt, my ankle boots in the whisky color, my Mulberry Alexa bag and my new ring”.

(Chiara Ferragni Ankle boots ( AVAILABLE HERE ), Seven for All Mankind Jeans, Zara Shirt, Zara Aviator Jacket)
Andy, the Stylescrapbook, goes for a long see- through skirt ( her own creation), a vintage bag and the Aviator.
Mireia’s style has been featured in no less but Elle and Vogue. In her blog My Daily Style, we found her lovely contribution to the Aviator look.

Fur from Fashion Bloggers
Added 2010-12-01
It is freezing cold with tons of snow in the north of Europe right now! Brrrrrrrr... Here is a challenge: how do you look good in a weather like that? Hard to achieve, but not impossible! Check out these winter looks from our fashion bloggers at Inspirety Fashion.
First in line is Sandra from 5 inch and up, photos are from her blog and from a shoot in Finland.

Another favorite is Jacqueline from Fashion Snag. This is what she says about the outfit:
"The last part of this outfit is the Juicy Couture faux fur jacket which is an old gift from my boyfriend. It is actually one of the first presents he bought for me. It had a little black bow pin on it, but I promptly removed that to make it more edgy."

Chantal is based in New York, her blog Cocorosa is famous. We adore her romantic view of the cold, Chantal says:
"It's getting seriously cold and I kind of love it, I love to completely buckle up and I love the days being short with the darkness setting in shortly after 4pm to go home surrounded by the tiny lights that light up the streets covered in a snowy blanket and to warm myself up with a cup of warm chocolate while wrapping up Christmas presents."

Andera is the Blonde Bedhead. Most of her weekends she works as a wedding photographer. Let's see what Andrea says about the look:
"I paired it with a pair of tapered dress pants, boots and the faux fur scarf. It's so cozy and warm. I'm not often practical, but I think I'll get a lot of use out of the faux fur scarf this winter."

Keep warm in the cold.

Swedish fashion for everyone
Added 2010-11-02
That is maybe what the Swedish brand H&M stands for. The company was established 1947 in Västerås and has now over 76 000 employees. Most of the collections are created by in-house designers, but in the last few years H&M has invited a guest designer.

As you probably know, H&M and Lanvin officially announced their collaboration, due at H&M selected stores and online on November 23.

"I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection," says Alber Elbaz, Lanvin's artistic director. "But what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public."
